The Suspects as a band and concept came to being after a chance meeting in an Earlsdon pub, between veteran blues and r’n’b vocalist & harp player Mick Wheeler and Pete Jackson, then working as lead guitarist in local band, The Re-Offenders.
After several beers and an animated discussion of what r’n’b really was / is, further discussions took place with the aim to put the best r’n’b band together.
Some 18 months on and The Suspects, whilst not claiming top spot yet, are nearer to the finished article, with one or two tweaks still to be made.
Several line-up changes on bass haven’t helped matters but with the current line-up now settled, a bunch of ‘live’ tracks showcasing the band recorded, several support gigs with the legendary Wilko Johnson under the belt and a cluster of gigs lined-up in 2007 – the future for The Suspects looks bright.
